Isn't this picture simply amazing!!! These are the views you will have as you fly to the Dominican Republic. We generally fly over the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, etc. so, I'm not completely sure which this is. However, there are over 700 islands in the Bahamian archipelago alone. It's so cool to see islands that are uninhabited, or maybe just have one visable road or airstrip. I always imagine what it might be like to live on one! We have traveled to the Bahamas many times and loved those experiences. However, we find the DR to be a much more lush, tropically wonderful experience. The DR, on the island of Hispaniola, is the largest island in the Caribbean producing 80% of what is needed for it's people. That's one big difference from the Bahamas where most products are shipped in from the US and can be very expensive.
